In my experience eating ice cream in NYC, it is in my top of the best, although the price is a little high, I think the amount of ice cream they serve is good. I was given so there was a bit of a wait, about 10 minutes. They served me quickly and the most important thing is that they asked you if you suffered from any allergies or something you couldn't eat. They have a yogurt option. And at the end they have an option of toppings but to serve the ice cream, I think the topping would be exaggerated. They have a bathroom that you can access and they also have a place to sit, either inside the place or outside (they could put more chairs). I was satisfied with my ice cream and will come back to try other flavors.

Anita Gelato is wonderful and has amazing flavors. There are lines all summer but the Gelato is worth the wait. The place is spacious and pretty. They have great flavors and the staff is very helpful. Tasting is amust and I always find myself getting a flavor that I had not considered!

SO MANY flavors to choose from and you get to sample as many as you like to decide. The line moves pretty quickly even when it's busy so don't get too intimidated by the line. There is a lot of indoor seating and some outdoor seating as well. The store is really cute inside and nicely decorated. A lot of photo opportunities. I do wish the cups were bigger because they stuff them and when it's a hot Summer day, it's a race against the heat to eat it.

Came here from a recommendation from a friend and it was the best decision ever! I got the raspberry- super sweet and creamy- with the pistachio with chocolate which was the best flavor ever! There was also a flavor that tasted exactly like a ferrero rocher chocolate- for those who love chocolate! Although the line was out the door, it moved pretty fast and we ordered within 10 minutes! The workers were efficient and super sweet with us wanting to sample a lot of the flavors!

This was my third visit to Anita Gelato as I only get to NYC a few times each year. As expected, it is really good gelato and I have had gelato in Italy. There will be a long line when you get there, but it moves fast so it is worth it. Prices are reasonable especially for NY and the portions are large. I have had 4 different flavors. Watermelon mint, pistachio, strawberry and one that I don't recall at the moment. My only disappointment comes from them not having some flavors that I experienced in Italy and my favorites...cantaloupe or honeydew. I don't think anyone would be disappointed and it would take many trips to try them all.

I've heard lots of great things about this place so we stopped by for dessert after dinner. We fortunately had an earlier dinner and just beat the evening crowd, but by the time we were finishing up the line was pretty long. There are lots of flavors to choose from so it can be quite overwhelming! We got a split scoop of pistachio and pavlova and mixed berries. It's definitely pricey but I appreciate how much they load into the small cup. Both flavors were very strong and the tartness of the pavlova and mixed berries complemented the pistachio well. Haven't had enough gelato around the area to compare, but definitely a very solid spot. I'm not sure that I would be motivated enough to wait in a terribly long line, but it's a great sweet treat especially with the hot weather!

It's every single thing that they say it is plus more. It's a dream come true in every bite. Sweet indulgence on my Christmas Eve birthday... They give sample and I am positive that the line is long this time of the year but it is an absolutely MUST HAVE- Incredible gelato. All the stars...

A lot of people say this place is overhyped, and I don't necessarily disagree. Without a doubt, the gelato here is delicious, but for me it only just manages to be worth the absurd lines and very high prices. I live nearby, so I was able to stop in on a Tuesday at around 5:30pm, when there wasn't much of a line. By their standards, that means the line didn't extend outside and down the block, so it was still a 15 minute wait before I got anything. I finally got a small cup, with chocolate pistachio and chocolate pretzel gelato. In the freezer case, a lot of their chocolate based gelatos are sealed over with a layer of melted chocolate on top (which in my opinion is an absolutely genius idea) and both of the flavors I got had this. The pistachio was excellent, and the little ribbons of chocolate coating with pistachio crumbles throughout were so delicious. I didn't like the pretzel one too much, because it tasted too bready, with not really enough chocolate. Still, this gelato is undoubtedly delicious, very smooth and creamy with no icy chunks at all. It's just up to you to decide whether it's worth waiting in line and paying a very steep price ($9 for this tiny cup).

I swear every time I come to Anita Gelato, the prices for the large takeaway box keeps increasing. I remember it was no more than $30 in the past but now it is over $40+. Wow that's steep! Either way, got 4 flavors. Since I went in the morning not all of the flavors were out, however I was still able to get a fresh batch of Belgian chocolate from the back! Overall, still my hubbys most favorite gelato shop, just wish the prices stop increasing!

Came here after dinner. Huge line that takes 30 minutes. Unfortunately we had to deal with some rude and unfriendly customers hogging tables, but putting that aside, it was worth it once we reached the end of the rainbow. We got to sample a variety of flavors and settled on three flavors for a Medium ($10). Pistachio - If you love pistachio, this is for you. Cheesecake and Caramel Cookies - Pretty self explanatory of cheesecake like texture with the sweetness of caramel cutting through. Hazelnut Mousse & Chocolate Crunch - My favorite flavor of the three. Essentially was like consuming Rocher Ferrero, but better.
